THE ABOMINABLE IRON SLOTH (2004 - 2006)

Like a southern-fried amalgamation of Cult of Luna, Neurosis and Converge, The Abominable Iron Sloth stalked the grey expanses of the Northwest. With three members from Will Haven, they were likened as a doom/sludge version of WH, but had since disbanded following Will Haven's reformation. However, the three remaining original members have also reformed under their original moniker, The Indomitable Iron Sloth.

MANATEES

Epic atmospheric and ambient doom/sludge (or any other genre that seems to be shoved under the rug of "post-metal" nowadays) from across the pond in Great Britain. I've seen them humourously described as a "poor man's Mouth of the Architect." Soaring post-rock-esque crescendos paralleled with crushing, heavy low ends.

DAHLIA SEED (1992 - 1996)

Veterans of the NY/NJ hardcore scene, Dahlia Seed was a groundbreaking band that defied the cookie-cutter formula of the prevalent indie rock scene at the time, transforming it into a more aggressive, punk-oriented sound to make a definitive impact on the genre known as "emo."Already unique in their own right, Dahlia Seed was known more for the gutsy, "in your face" performances of vocalist Tracy Wilson. For fans of Moss Icon, Native Nod, Shotmaker.

Wilson is currently in her solo project Ringfinger.
